Q3. If you are given a Jar file , How can you go through it understand what it does

Ans. It depends on if the jar file has source files or not. If it does have , I can open it in an IDE. If not, I can try looking documentation online if it's a public library or framework. If it's not a public library and no source file available, We can use a decompiler to generate source files from compiled class files.

Q5. If you are given a choice to have a functionality shared either through dependency or through a Web service, which one will you choose ?

Solution

Ans. Web Service promotes looser coupling but with comes with coding and performance overheads. Jars provide better performance and may be lesser coding but are problematic with update distribution. If the situation doesn't require frequent dependency updates and if it's only read operation of persistence, Having dependencies should be a better choice , otherwise web service.

Q6. What would you do if you have to add a jar to the project using Maven ?

Maven

Ans. If its already there in Maven local repository, We can add that as a dependency in the project pom file with its Group Id, Artifact Id and version.

We can provide additional attribute SystemPath if its unable to locate the jar in the local repository.

If its not there in the local repository, we can install it first in the local repository and then can add it as dependency.

Ans. Jar is Java Archieve i.e compressed Class or Class / Java files.

War comprises of compressed Servlet class files,JSP FIles,supporting files, GIF and HTML files.

Ear comprise of compressed Java and web module files ( was files ).
