Q481. Can we have try statement without catch? If try statement contains return will the finally block be executed? What happens if there is an exception inside finally block?
Ans. JRE or Java Runtime Environment is the Java Virtual Machine on which class files are executed. It includes borwser plugins that facilitates execution of class files in browsers.
JDK or Java Development Kit includes JRE , compiler and development tools.

Ans. Web Service promotes looser coupling but with comes with coding and performance overheads. Jars provide better performance and may be lesser coding but are problematic with update distribution. If the situation doesn't require frequent dependency updates and if it's only read operation of persistence, Having dependencies should be a better choice , otherwise web service.

Ans. We creates separate branches for each project if development work is going on parallel and they are to be released at different times. Once the first release is done, we merge the branch changes into trunk. If they all have to go at one time, we usually would merge everything in the trunk itself.

Q487. Is it advisable to just hold checking in your changes to trunk if there is another release planned in between ?
Ans. If it's just smaller change, and single person is working, then this approach is fine. Otherwise there are risk on loosing it on your machine. Moreover , If there are multiple people working , it makes it hard to share code. It's better to create a separate branch and then merge it later to trunk.

Q489. If you are supposed to deprecate the method , Will you deprecate the method in the implementation class or will you deprecate the abstract declaration within interface or abstract class ?
Ans. Deprecating the interface / or declaration doesn't make much sense as the implementation is deprecated and not the interface.

Q490. When do we generally get the database error - Unique Constraint Violated ?
Ans. This error can result either on an insert, update or delete when any change in data results in duplicate record or subset of it having unique constraint on record or its subset. For example - If we have a unique constraint on a combination of columns and then trying to insert duplicate column values.

Ans. Audit Tables generally stores Raw information to be reviewed in case of problems or determining impact. If Database space is an issue , and the audit information is rarely retrieved, one design could be to use compressed file system.

Ans. Constructor has the same name as class name whereas instance initialization block just have a body without any name or visibility type.
instance initialization blocks are useful if we want to have some code run regardless of which constructor is used or if we want to do some instance initialization for anonymous classes.

Ans. It is the ability to deploy changes on the fly without need to first build , deploy and then restart. All these functions happens on the fly as soon as the changes are made to the code.

Q496. Difference between Hot and Cold Deployment ?
Ans. Cold Deployment is a conventional deployment mechanism that follows the multi step process to deploy code changes to the running app i.e Build -> Deploy - Restart.
whereas
Hot Deployment is deployment changes on the fly without need to first build , deploy and then restart. All these functions happens on the fly as soon as the changes are made to the code.

Q497. What is wrong with the following if statement ?
When String literals are compared using ==, they always returns true if the string values are same because ..
of overridden compareTo method
of overridden compare method
of String Pool
== means that the object contents are equal
Q499. Does an ArrayList allow elements of different types ? If not, Why the following code works
List list1 = new ArrayList<>();
list1.add(1);
list1.add("1");
Ans. With Java 7 or Later.
If you don't declare the list to be of specific type , it treats it as list of objects.
int 1 is auto boxed to Integer and "1" is String and hence both are objects.

Ans. IdentityHashMap is a class that implements AbstractMap and provides a data structure with Elements having Key Value pair, just like HashMap. It is similar to HashMap except that it uses reference equality when comparing elements.

Ans. Buffer is cleared in 2 circumstances, i.e 1. naturally when the buffer is filled and 2. explicitly when the method flush is called ( for flushing the residual )
Ideally we just need to call flush once at the end of file writing so that the residual content should be dumped to file.

Ans. Here is the list of classes that implements Collections Interface - http://www.buggybread.com/2015/02/java-collections-classes-that-implement.html
Having Collection interface to extend Cloneable interface would mean necessarily implement clone method by all implementing classes. As not all collection classes allow duplicate elements, it makes no sense to clone elements for them.

Ans. Array List works on Array and when we add an element in middle of the list, Array List need to update the index of all subsequent elements. I the capacity is full, it even may need to move the whole list to a new memory location . Linked List works on Double linked list algorithm and all it has to do is to adjust the address of the previous and next elements.

Ans. But Collections.emptyList() returns an Immutable list whereas new arraylist() creates a mutable list.
Advantage of getting an empty list using Collections.emptyList is that it returns a singleton list which can be shared among many references and hence made immutable. This is good fit for situations where we would like to initialize a list to basic minimum empty to avoid null pointer exception.

Ans. The prototype pattern is a creational design pattern. It is used when the type of objects to create is determined by a prototypical instance, which is cloned to produce new objects. Prototype is used when we need duplicate copies of objects.
