| Ans. [Open Ended Answer] Usually answered stating your keen interest in the role offered and challenges and opportunities the role offers. | ||||

| Ans. public void checkIfAnagram(String str1,String str2){ boolean anagram = true; for(char c:str1.toCharArray()){ if(!str2.contains(String.valueOf(c))){ System.out.println("Strings are Anagrams"); anagram = false; } if(anagram == true){ System.out.println("Strings are not Anagrams"); } } } | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. [Open Ended Answer] This is a very sensitive question and should be dealt with caution. Just simply saying that you never had any disagreement will present you as dumb team member. Showing your self as too aggressive in such decisions will present you as a trouble maker. You should present a situation where you had an argument / disagreement but eventually you and your team mates mutually found a way out of it. | ||||

| Ans. 1. HashSet doesnt maintain its elements in any specific order and is all random whereas TreeSet maintains elements in natural order 9 order defined by the equals method of TreeSet element type ) 2. TreeSet doesnt allow null elements whereas HashMap does. 3. As TreeSet orders elements and is hence insertion is comparatively slower. 4. HashSet performs basic operations like add(), remove(), contains(), size() etc. in a constant size time. A TreeSet performs these operations at the order of log(n) time. 5. HashMap in Java internally backs a HashSet. A NavigableMap backs a TreeSet internally. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. Coupling is the degree of interdependence between software modules, a measure of how closely connected two modules are or the strength of the relationships between modules. Cohesion refers to the degree to which the elements of a module belong together. Cohesion measures the strength of relationship between pieces of functionality within a given module. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. Polymorphism means the condition of occurring in several different forms. Polymorphism in Java is achieved in two manners 1. Static polymorphism is the polymorphic resolution identified at compile time and is achieved through function overloading whereas 2. Dynamic polymorphism is the polymorphic resolution identified at runtime and is achieved through method overriding. | ||||

| Ans. ACID stands for Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability is a set of properties of database transactions. Atomicity means all or nothing. i.e parts of a transaction shouldn't commit if any one of them fails. Either the whole transaction should succeed or it should be complete rollback. Consistency means that any transaction should lead database from one stabe state to another. Isolation means that the execution of transaction results in a system state that would be obtained if transactions were executed serially. Durability means that when a transaction is committed it forms the permanent state of database. | ||||

| Ans. The prototype pattern is a creational design pattern. It is used when the type of objects to create is determined by a prototypical instance, which is cloned to produce new objects. Prototype is used when we need duplicate copies of objects. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. A finally block of code always executes, whether or not an exception has occurred.The only time finally won't be called is if you call System.exit() or if the JVM crashes first. | ||||

| Ans. Enums in Java are used to declare predefined objects and then reuse them. they offer many benefits 1. Enum instance are type safe and thread safe. 2. Enum instances are singleton and hence reused. 3. If we use Enums with Switch , It makes sure that the passed argument is either of its instance and hence provides a safeguard. 4. If we use Enum with Sorted Collections we can sort the elements with a predefined priorities ( as per constant declaration in enum ) 5. We can use Enum as a Factory by defining its constructor. 6. We can store related constant data within enum. For example - If we know the values for the map upfront, we can alternatively use an enum. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. Both are creational design patterns. Singleton is used when we would like to reuse an object if object is not supposed to hold request or thread specific information. Inversely Prototype is used in situations where we would like to reuse the object information but the request / thread may require it own data to be persisted. In short, Singleton is used in situations where we can live with single object being shared across multiple requests or threads whereas Prototype is used when we need duplicate copies of objects. | ||||

| Ans. GET is supposed to get information from the server. Client sends the minimal information so that Server can respond with the response body on basis of request. For example - You want to get complete employment record for employee id 123 POST is supposed to send the information for submission. Payload or a Body is usually sent so that it can be persisted on the server. For example - Sending the complete information of an employee ( id, name , dept etc ) to the server for persisting it. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. It depends on whether the request object is persisted as it is or its first dismantled, modified or refactored and then inserted into DB. In first case, it should be a PUT request whereas in second case it should be a POST Request. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. PUT requests are only meant to place the object as it is on server. For example - You want a file to be uploaded and then placed in a particular folder or you want an Employee object to be persisted in the table. POST requests are also meant to transfer information from client to server but that information once received at the server is evaluated , modified or refactored before persisting. | ||||

| Ans. Earlier any class implementing an interface was supposed to implement all methods declared in an interface. There was no place for optionally implementing all or subset of methods.Though we have abstract classes wherein we could have provided such a mechanism by declaring some methods as abstract while providing definition for some. But as Abstract classes have a body and are comparatively heavier than interfaces and interfaces associate closely to the concept of providing interfacing than abstract classes, Java might have though of providing optional implementation for default methods. This way same interface can be reused in variety of ways rather than making copies of an interface to suit different needs. | ||||

| Ans. When a Table Join itself , it's a Self Join. For example - we like to know the pair of department names where first dept has lesser employees than the later. Select D1.name , D2.name from Dept D1, Dept D2 where D1.employee_count < D2.employee_count | ||||

| Ans. Multi Level Inheritance is multi level hierarchy of classes. Here is the example - http://www.buggybread.com/2015/09/java-se-class-diagram-classes-that_603.html Class RoleList extends ArrayList which in turn extends AbstractList which in turn extends AbstractCollection. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. We creates separate branches for each project if development work is going on parallel and they are to be released at different times. Once the first release is done, we merge the branch changes into trunk. If they all have to go at one time, we usually would merge everything in the trunk itself. | ||||

| Ans. 1. Issue with Jar and ClassPath Conflicts 2. Killing JVM will terminate all applications | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. JRE or Java Runtime Environment is the Java Virtual Machine on which class files are executed. It includes borwser plugins that facilitates execution of class files in browsers. JDK or Java Development Kit includes JRE , compiler and development tools. | ||||

| Ans. Fail Safe systems are tolerant systems that continue processing even if they sense any problem. the objective here is to continue with the processing even if there are some problems instead of completely shutting it down. Example could be to catch an exception and still letting it complete with partial results. | ||||
| ||||
| Ans. Fail-fast iterators detect illegal concurrent modification during iteration and fail quickly and cleanly rather than risking arbitrary, non deterministic behavior at an undetermined time in future. Example could be of an Iterator failing if it smells ConcurrentModificationException. | ||||
